Taroom

Taroom, a small town located in central QLD, lies on the Leichhardt Highway and adjacent to the Dawson River. Being quite remote, the town offers ample services for motorists and is a key centre for the surrounding cattle industries despite its size. In the area are the Coolibah Tree, marked by Ludwig Leichhardt (first explorer in the region) and Glebe Weir (40km north) has picnic areas, birdlife and camping grounds.
