Tin Can Bay

Tin Can Bay, located approximately 80km north of Gympie, lies along the Tin Can Inlet, a sheltered passage of water just south of Fraser Island and about 20km west of the popular Rainbow Beach. Settled in the 1870's as a logging port, the town eventually grew more prominently as a fishing village. Today the town's industries are still largely centered around its fishing industries although tourism has grown due to the idyllic, quiet surrounds the town resides in as well as having safe swimming beaches and waterways suited for a variety of activities.
