Warrego Highway    - was previously

The Warrego Highway starts 6km east of Ipswich at the junction of the Ipswich Motorway and Cunningham Highway. It then passes west through the lush, fertile pastures of the Lockyer Valley, bypassing Gatton before winding up the Great Dividing Escarpment into Toowoomba. Significant scenery change thereon - the highway passes through the Darling Downs which are essentially flat, agricultural regions to Dalby, Miles and into the last main centre Roma. The highway heads further west into vast beef and cattle farming districts through Mitchell, Morven (where the route number changes to ALT-A2) and finally Charleville.
