Yeppoon

Yeppoon, a major holiday resort town is located at the heart of the Capricorn Coast, 40km north-east of Rockhampton. It was once a small town for local pineapple and sugar cane farmers, but has developed into one of QLD's most popular resort towns. Its growth is largely due to Great Keppel Island becoming internationally recognised as well as the popular beaches that are the Capricorn Coast. The town itself is set amongst extremely undulating terrain, which is odd considering its position against the coastline. Yeppoon's main street is colourful, busy and attractive - the Capricorn International Resort is located 10km north.
