Lameroo

Lameroo, located on the Mallee Highway between Tailem Bend and Pinnaroo, is a small town that services the local wheat & wool industries, and set amongst the generally flat & arid mallee farmlands. The town was gazetted in 1904 and grew initially when the railway network was extended into the mallee regions however population has dwindled over time due to ongoing issues with employment and somewhat diminished importance. While the town in itself is quite pleasant, the stand-out feature of the town are the wide and well maintained median strips and parkland that abut the Mallee Highway - the town otherwise has limited services for the tourist.
