Mallee Highway (SA)  was previously

The Mallee Highway, originally known as the Ouyen Highway, links the Murray Mallee region of South Australia with Adelaide and the eastern states. It also forms part of the premier route from Adelaide to Sydney & Brisbane. Starting from the Dukes Highway, just east of Tailem Bend, the highway heads due east through the flat, uninspiring landscape consisting largely of wheat and sheep farms that make up the Murray Mallee. Although several small townships are encountered, those offering useful services for the motorist are in Lameroo and primarily Pinnaroo. From Pinnaroo, the highway continues eastwards, passing the Fruit Fly Inspection Point before entering Victoria.
