Colac

Colac is a large town situated on the Princes Highway between Warrnmabool and Geelong. It lies on the banks of Lake Colac (largest freshwater lake in Victoria), on the eastern edge of the western plains agricultural area and the northern edge of the Otway Ranges. Corangamite Lake is nearby - the largest lake in Victoria and is three times saltier than sea water - boating and water activites are not allowed as it principally a nature reserve. The town itself is quite picturesque - the main street is tree lined, colourful and quite lengthy.
