Morwell

Morwell is the central La Trobe Valley city, home of Victoria's power stations. The brown coal that feeds the stations is mined from Morwell itself, Moe, Yallourn and Traralgon. Morwell is a tidy city with an interesting "double" main street, recently upgraded with the railway line running through the middle. In the area is Hazelwood Pondage, a warm water pool heated by the nearby power station, Morwell Rose Garden and Morwell National Park, 15km south.
