Mount Macedon

Mount Macedon, located north-west of Melbourne, just off the Calder Freeway straddles the foot hills of the actual Mount Macedon and is largely populated by grand homes and large European style gardens. The summit of Mount Macedon is easily accessible, with the breathtaking view at the Memorial Cross lookout accompanying well kept gardens. The mountain is a prominent feature on the surrounding landscape due to its rocky and cliff face on the western side and the lack of other significant natural features in the area. Nearby Hanging Rock (5km north) is also worth visiting.
