Seymour is one of many ex Hume Highway towns, now bypassed it still remains on the Goulburn Valley Hwy as well as on the Goulburn River itself. The town is in a rich valley which supports the local vineyards and large military base at Puckapunyal to the west. The main street is parallel to the railway in the centre of town which is unusual and quite attractive (although had a recent upgrade), as well as the entrance to the town being quite nice. In the area is the Capalba Alpaca Park and Tourist Farm which is home to a variety of animals and exotic birds.
