Warragul is the first administrative centre once leaving Melbourne of the Princes Highway (M1). The town is set in lush, rolling dairy countryside and is the gateway to the La Trobe Valley. The town centre is quite pleasant - good mix of gardens and shops and is usually busy. Warragul is a good base for ski goers heading to Mt Baw Baw alpine village or Baw Baw National Park to the north.
