Wodonga, commonly associated with its twin NSW city, Albury lies on the southern bank of the Murray River at the junction of the Hume and Murray Valley Highways. It lies in a valley surrounded by hills, within close proximity to the old goldfields of Beechworth and Yackandandah as well as the wineries in Chilterns and Rutherglen. In the area is Lake Hume to the east and Sumsion Gardens & the National Pottery Museum of Australia, both of which lie in Wodonga.
