BRIDESTOWE ESTATE
Bridestowe Estate in Tasmania, Australia was founded in 1921 and lavender seeds (Lavendula angustifolia) from the European Alps were planted the following year. In 1924 the oil was sent to London for appraisal by experts, who declared it completely free of camphor.
Over the next few decades, more and more land was planted with Lavendula angustifolia and a distillery was built in 1930. And after many years of selection and improvisation the oil yield of the lavender plants increased from 20 kilo per hectare to 60 kilo per hectare. Nowadays Bridestowe Estate is internationally renowned for its technical and botanical research.
They now produce the finest strains of the true perfumery lavender.
Pure lavender oil from the Estates Distillery is now exported worldwide and is highly prized by the world's leading perfume houses.
