The grave is 2500 years old, ie about 500 BCE .... there existed in the area a connected set of bronze age villages... in fact it went from just below the Tong le Sap to Baria.... these villages formed a Kingdom which has been termed the Oc Eo Kingdom after the village in the western Delta where the first vestiges of the civilisation were found. They were transformed into the Phu Nam civilisation which was destroyed by the rise of the Khmer Empire about 7th-8th centuries. |
