Duncan G. McNair. By mid
1970, the RAAF crews of three Sqadrons had flown 750,000 sorties in
Vietnam , without losing a man. McNair, a helicopter crewman from 9
Squadron became the first when his helicopter crashed and ignited
during operations on July 3. He suffered serious burns and died 17 days
later in 3 US Field Hospital, Saigon.

Lyall H. McPherson, 20.
McPherson died of gushot wounds on patrol in Bien Hoa on April 12 1969.

Malcolm B. McQualter,
29. Seriously injured when his APC struck a mine and exploded just
after sunrise on February 21 1967 in Phuoc Tuy, he died of his wounds
in 3 US field Hospital, Saigon on March 5 1967.

James L. McQuat, 21.
The private rifleman with C Company 8RAR died when ambushed and shot by
the VC, 10 minutes after midnight on April 30 1970.

Peter A. Malone, 21. A
corporal crew commander with A Squadron 3 Cavalry Regiment, RAAC. His
APC hit a enemy mine which exploded and killed him on January 18 1969,
in Bien Hoa.

Joesph G. Manicola, 22.
On January 17 1969 Army Medics admitted him to 1 Australian Field
Hospital with a cranial tumour, then transferred him to Heidelberg
Repatriation Hospial in Melbourne, where he died on March 12 1969.

Paul Manning, 19. Paul
Manning 3 RAR ...3 March 71......Paul was killed in action as a result
of enemy probe on D Company that evening, along with Lt John
Wheeler..he had only been in country a few days....his Company was on
familiarisation training when they were hit by a large group of enemy
just outside Long Tan..

Peter R. Marks-Chapman.
Wounded during an enemy contact in Binh Tuy, in December 18 1969, he
died a day later.

William H. Martin, 22.
He served with 1RAR and had extended his tour by six months when killed
in action on May 16 1968.

Ian G. Mathers, 22. He
was one of three Autralians, including two from the RAAF, who were
killed in action during an enemy contact in Long Khanh on June 7 1971.
Fourteen men were wounded in the same battle.

Geoffrey F. Mathews, 21.
VC shot Mathews during an early evening patrol on February 8 1968. He
died of his wounds at dawn the following day in 24 US Evac. Hospital,
Long Binh.

Kenneth F. Mathieson,24.
A rifleman private with 6RAR, he was wounded near Route 44 Song Rai, on
March 22 1967, during a search and destroy mission for Operation
Portsea, he returned to Australia and died of his wounds in the
Repatriation General Hospital, Heidelberg on May 11 1967.

lance bombadier with Det. 131 Division Locating Battery was killed by
an enemy mortar attack ay 1.15am near Fire Support Base Anderson, Bien
Hoa on February 18 1968.

VC troops shot and killed Meredith on January 10 1969, in Bien Hoa.

David G. Milford, 22.
Posted to A Company 7RAR embarked for Vietnam in April 1967, and died
during Operation Ballarat, on August 6 1967.

Robert B. Milligan, 30.
The Captian and second in command of C Company, 5RAR , was two weeks
away from his planned wedding, and on his last patrol, when a booby
trap containing a M26 grenade exploded and killed Milligan on February
14 1967 in Phuoc Tuy. Robert O'Neill wrote in "Vietnam Task"---The
explosion was devastating and particularly tragic for it killed three
of the Companies Officers and wounded another five men.

David Mitchell, 28. He
accidentally died from gunshot wounds to the head on July 23 1968 at
Nui Dat , Phuoc Tuy.

Warren D. Mitchell, 21.
He had been in Vietnam for two months when he was shot dead in the
Battle of Long Tan on August 18 1966.

Kevin L. Mitchinson, 22.
Lance coporal crew commander Mitchinson from B Company 3rd Cavalry
Regiment died as he persued a VC in a APC in Phuoc Tuy on February 21
1967 the APC hit a mine and exploded, killing him instantly.

Moore died with John hutchison, on November 16 1967, as they cleared a
mine field in Song Hai, Phuoc Tuy. Married to Iris with sons Peter and
Ian

With 1 Platoon A Compony, 9RAR. VC shot the private in Phuoc Tuy on
July 24 1969.

Sydney T. Moore, 20. The
signaller with the 110 Signals Squadron became ill on September 18 and
was returned to Australia where he died of neuroblastomma in
Repatriation General Hospital, Heidelberg, Victoria on August 25 1970.

John L. Morgan The
private storeman technical with 2 Advance Ordance Depot of the RAAOC
died accidentaly when hit by a truck at 1 ALSG Nui Dat, Phuoc Tuy on
June 1 1970.

Gunshots from VC troops killed Morrison. The rifleman private, died on
Australia Day, January 26, 1968, during an enemy contact in Bien Hoa.

Allan B. Moss, 22.Moss,
and Sergeant Wallace Galvin, were shot dead by an Australian soldier at
1 Australian Task Force base, Nui Dat , on Christmas Day, 1970.

private rifleman with 1RAR died of wounds in 1 Australian Field
Hospital on August 5 1968 after he suffered frag wounds from a mine
during an enemy contact five hours earlier in Bien Hoa.

An Army psychiattrist attached to Headquaters Australian Army, the
Major died in 1 Australian Field Hospital of Heart Failure.

Michael Muc, 21. Muc
died from frag wounds, along with another private in his platoon on
Friday, September 13 1968, in an enemy contact in a bunker, during
Operation Hawkesbury on the western edge of VC territory in Thua Tich.

Hans A. Muller, 22.
Muller was killed in action from a enemy mine explosion on July 4 1969,
near Long Hai and died of his wounds in 1 Australian Field Hospital,
Vung Tau, the following afternoon. Nine Australians were killed and 58
were wounded in the same operation.

Along with six other Australians he was killed in action when a mine
was detonated in Phuoc Tuy on February 28 1970.

rifleman private died of his wounds in 24 US Evac. Hospital, Long Binh,
on July 9 1968, 2-1/2 hours after he suffered multiple frag wounds to
his body and a gunshot wound to the head in a enemy contact.

Harold R. Musicka, 23.
He was accidentally killed on January 19 1969 when a friendly forces
soldier saw a moving figure and discharged three rounds of ammunition.

George Nagle, 23. Nagle
died within weeks of the arrival of 9RAR in Vietnam, during Operation
Goodwood 35kms from Nui Dat. The rifleman private suffered fatal frag
wounds to his body when struck by a claymore mine in an extended
contact with the enemy in Phuoc Tuy on January 6 1969.

The rifleman private died of chest wounds in the 173 US Airbourne
Brigade Ambulance Station, two hours after being shot by VC on July 8
1965.
