Wounded in action by an enemy mine in Phuoc Tuy, he died two hours 15
minutes later in 1 Australian Field Hospital, Vung Tau.

Dennis W. Neal, 22. Neal
was returning from the section's first operation on May 29 1970 when a
member of the section tripped on a booby trap and detonated an enemy
mine which killed him and one of his mates.

John D. Needs, 22. On
his second tour of duty,Corporal Needs was killed by a mine as he was
helping evacuate his mates from an earlier explosion in Phuoc Tuy on
July 21 1969.

Dennis E. Nelson, 21.
He was killed during a refresher exercise at Nui Dat when the rocket on
an American helicopter gunship malfunctioned and fired, killing three
soldiers and wounding ten others on Septmber 26 1967.

Ralph J. Niblett, 22.
Niblett was shot dead by VC soldiers during the first battle of
Operation Ivanhoe on September 21 1971, near the border of Phuoc Tuy
Province.

Raymond K. Nichols, 39.
An outstanding soldier, he had a masive heart attack and died in unit
lines in Phuoc Tuy 15 minutes after midnight on december 28 1970.

Kenneth R. Nicholson,
23. The "Tunnel Rat" Nicholson was killed in action during a
minesweeping operation in Phuoc Tuy, at the height of the Tet Offensive
on April 12 1968.

Erald H. Nilsen, 20.An
accidental discharge of another soldiers gun took his life. He died
from gunshot wounds to the head and chest at 1 Australian Task Force
Base at Nui Dat on November 14 1966.

Christopher R. Nisbet,
20. The private rifleman with 1RAR's second tour of Vietnam was killed
in action in an enemy contact in Bien Hoa on May 14 1968.

Errol W. Noack, 21.
Initially records stated that he died from gunshot wounds from friendly
forces at Nui Dat but the description of his death was later altered to
wounded in action. He died of his wounds on May 24 1966.

Micheal J. Noonam, 21.
He was shot dead by VC snipers, along with another Australian infantry
soldier, in an enemy contact on Friday September 13 1968 in Phuoc Tuy.

Graham L. Norley, 21. A
coporal with 2RAR at the time of his death by a VC sniper on Australia
Day, January 26 1968. He died from gunshot wounds to the chest during
an enemy contact in Bien Hoa.

John W. Norris, 25.
Johnny Norris died on July 25 1966 when VC ambushed his section from
behind in a trench. The soldiers stood up to fire but three of the
younger ones would not sit down. The father of four pushed them down
withe help of another senior soldier, and was shot dead in the back and
legs.

John A. O'Brien, 21. the
private rifleman was killed in action on May 13 1968 in Bien Hoa, two
weeks after he arrived in Vietnam.

John M. O'Connor, 25.
Posted to 7RAR he was killed in action in the search-and -destroy
mission Operation Ballarat, in Phuoc Tuy a day before he turned 26.

Private Patrick S.
O'Conner was K.I.A. on July 7, 1968. He was a member of 8 pl. C. coy.
4RAR. He died of G.S.W. after the section was hit whilst manning the
checkpoint at the base of the Horseshoe.[Check Point Charlie].

Stephen J. O'Dal, 20.
Wounded by a mine explosion at lunchtime on March 6 1970 during an
extensive ambush operation in Phuoc Tuy, he died of his wounds in 1
Australian Field Hospital two hours later.

John L. O'Hara,22. The
RAE sapper with 1 Field Squadron Died from blast wounds as he tamped
down earth in his freshly laid minefield on May 20 1967, near the
Horseshoe, Phuoc Tuy.

Alan L. O'Neill, 36. A
member of 2 SAS Squadron he returned to Australia on September 10 1968
after a seven month tour of Vietnam. He died a year and seven weeks
later on October 30 1969 while on leave in South Perth.

John B. O'Neill, 20. He
died of head injuries after he fell in the hospital canteen of 1 Field
Hospital. the record of the accident states that" for no known medical
reason O'Neill fainted and stuck his head on a concrete floor. He died
on May 27 1969 in 24 US Evac. Hospital, Long Binh.

Goeffrey O'Shea, 20. A
member of 1 SAS Squadron and a parachutist. Typhus initally diagnosed
as encephalitis, killed the private on October 7 1967 in 36 US Evac
Hospital, Vung Tau.

Richard H. J. Parker,
24. A description of Parker's presumed last minutes during the Battle
of the Hump 21km NE of the town of Bien Hoa on November 8 1965 reads;
"A Coy under heavy fire... (Parker) last seen lying on ground during
enemy ambush... heard to groan. Did not answer calls. Unit withdrew."
His body was recovered in early 2007 by a dedicated group of volunteers

Antonino Parrello, 30.
He died when a rocket hit his APC, near Baria on February 1 1968.WO2
Parello was also an AATTV advisor who worked out of the Baria Province
Chief's compound. He survived the TET offensive in Baria which started
in the early morning. Grenades were rolled into the basement of the
building they were quartered in, but not all went off. Although wounded
he lasted until he was rescued by Aussies in APC's from Nui Dat.
Unfortunately, as he was loaded into the back of one, a Charlie with an
RPG let go and blew him up. He was a top soldier.

David Paterson, 25. He
was shot dead in the head during an enemy contact on March 20 1971 in
Phuoc Tuy.

Raymond B. Patten, 20.
He died of wounds in 1 Field Hospital on February 6 1971 after being
wounded in action by an enemy mine five days earlier in Phuoc Tuy.

Allan G.Pattison, 19.
Posted to Vietnam in November 1967, he died three months later when an
enemy mortar hit him.

John G. S. Pearce. 22.
The corporal stretcher bearer, attached to D Coy 1RAR, died from frag
wounds during an enemy contact on May 14 1968.

Peter L. Penneyston, 22.
An enemy mine killed him at noon on August 2 1970 in Phouc Tuy.

Bernard M. Pengilly, 22.
A mine thrown into a bunker during Operation Fox Trot, on the border of
Phuoc Tuy and Long Khanh, killed the rifleman private on July 30 1971.
Four months before all operations of Australian toops ceased in Vietnam.

Desmond H. Penn, 26. The
private rifleman was killed in action in Ben Cat, Phouc Tuy,on July 10
1966, two days after Operation Crimp in the Ho Bo Woods.

Robert G. Perrin, 22.
Stretcher bearer Perrin was being winched into a helicopter to aid
wounded Australian soldiers when the winch snapped and dropped him into
the jungle on February 2 1968 in Bien Hoa. The private with 7RAR died
of his injuries on the same day.
