"A widow mourns her brutally executed husband"
Nguyen Thi Lop new her husband, Van Lem, was a Viet Cong Officer. She new he went by the code name of -Bay Lop-Bay for Seventh son, Lop, for her. But until she picked up a newspaper in February 68, she didn't know that he'd been arrested-or that he was dead. There was Eddie Adam's photo of her 36 year old husband, being executed three days before by Saigons' Police Chief, Gen. Nguyen Ngoc Loan.
What was the real story
The Viet Cong were unsuccessful in their attempts to assasinate General Nguyen Ngoc Loan, but they did manage to break into the home of one of his best friends, a Colonel in the National Police. They murdered the Colonel,-then SLIT the THROATS of the Colonel's WIFE and SIX YOUNG CHILDREN who were General Loans' Godchildren. The South Vietnamese Marines captured this Officer-Bay Lop- at the site. They then brought him to the General

June 8 1972-Phan Thi Kim Phuc, her clothes burned of, caught in the middle of a American Napalm strike
What was the real story
Again the real story dosen't make the picture less horrific--This was a South Vietnamese Air Strike, the only Americans that were there were helicopters-----Years later we were even subjected to an Americain pilot saying "SORRY" to Kim Phuc for dropping the Napalm on her. This misguided individual was not even there!
