The Mid Murray Flying Club, which was established in 1962, is an incorporated non-profit company and a Civil Aviation Safety Authority Licensed Flying School. The Club’s primary activities are flying training, including theory lectures, aircraft charter and private rental. The main office of the club is located at the Swan Hill aerodrome with squadrons at the Kerang and Boort aerodromes. Training is conducted primarily out of Swan Hill where there is a well equipped training facility including licenced simulator. Training is also conducted out of Kerang and Boort. The Club employs a full time CFI, and owns it’s own fleet of aircraft housed in lock up hangar facilities. These are a Cessna 182RG, a Piper Archer and a Piper Warrior. A Skyfox Gazelle is now online to provide a cheaper way to begin flying. It is also a fun machine for those with a licence to have some fun. At Swan Hill there is a comfortable clubhouse with dining room, kitchen and licenced bar facilities. Kerang has a clubhouse and hangar facilities and Boort a hangar/club rooms.
The club has around 80 members many of which own their own aircraft. (pictures of them can be seen in the photo gallery) Our Members and students come from all states of Australia, who are enticed by the flat open terrain, clear fine weather, Murray River location and the reduced cost of learning to fly at an uncontrolled aerodrome. The Club is proud of its safety record, aircraft fleet, facilities and the high standards achieved by its graduate pilots.
