JANUARY 2003
January 11 to 17 - PPL lecture series at Kerang. This full time theory course will run for one full week. You can still join in, either for the whole course, or just brush up on a topic, This course will be full time -all day every day for one week. I expect at the end of that time students will sit the CASA exam. This is open to anyone who wishes to attend. If you wish to consolidate in a small area - The program will be as follows and members can come to as many or as few as they wish. Please let us know if you are interested, for catering (accommodation can be arranged.

December 15th - Xmas party and nav. ex. day. The venue this year is the Boort aerodrome. This is always a great occasion for all the family. It is planned to have a 9-00am start with the nav. ex. and to have a xmas lunch. Santa will arrive after lunch to visit all the kids big and small. Don't miss this great finish to the year.

November 22nd - The Annual General Meeting of the Mid Murray Flying Club will be held commencing at 8-00pm. Come along and meet the new CFI Graham Taberner. Supper will be available afterwards.
November 30th - Deniliquin Air Show. This will include flying displays and static displays. The club will be conducting joy flights and a display site. We will require help to man the site for short periods. Please contact Andrew McDonald if you can help. Seats will be available in the club's planes for the trip over. Book a seat now for you and your friends and arrive at the airshow in style. This should be a great day.

October 20th - Jim Morris Memorial Comps day at Kerang.
This is an annual event commencing at noon with a BBQ lunch followed by comps flying open to all comers. The flying is hotly contested between members to see who can win the coveted trophy. The flying consists of a spot landing, a forced landing and one other event. Come along and have a go or just join in the crowd watching on.

June 19th - Outback Flyaway
This is the year of the Outback and there will be lots to see and do in the Outback this year. One of the reasons for a pilotlicense is to get to places fast. The Club has the planes so why not use your license and your planes and make up a trip now with your friends or other Club members. The staff at the Club can also plan and organise a trip to the Outback on a charter basis and we need the hours. The best publicity is word of mouth so we ask you all to let the world know that your club is in the business of providing top quality outback tours to all those remote areas that we have contacts with.

although we are not hosting this anymore it would be good to have planes compete.
It ends at Bendigo.

Flyaway
The club is planning an interesting and unique opportunity to see the real outback Australia, and meet real outback
people. This would include an Outback Rodeo, station visit, race meeting and much more. The itinerary will last
approx 1 week away departing around the 19th June. Heading north to Longreach Queensland
to the Stockman's Hall of Fame, then up to the top end " Northern Territory", and then work our way home.
The guide for the trip will be Brian Goble who has returned from NT after serving 14 years in the Police force.
There will be a fair bit of roughing it, camping outside under the stars, sleeping in swags etc. If anyone has
