CHOJINKI METALDAR
(Super Machine Metaldar)

(1987)
Set during World War II, Professor Koga is commissioned to develop robots to fight the allies. After learning of the death of his son, the Professor ceases the project and disappears. Forty years later, after an attempt on his life, the Professor activates Metaldar, who in its human form, looks like
his dead son. The Professor is murdered, so Metaldar begins his quest to battle those responsible. Also known as
"Super Robot Metaldar". The US series "VR Troopers", uses this series as a template; changing the story line, replacing the Japanese cast with US cast, but retaining all the masked ranger - monster fighting scenes.
