DESTINATION MOONBASE ALPHA

After an explosion has pushed the moon and its moonbase far out into space, the people of moonbase fear that they will never return to Earth. Then a rescue team arrive - but the Comnmander of moonbase knows that the rescue team are not what they seem. Destination Moonbase Alpha is compiled from the "Space 1999" episodes "The Bringers Of Wonder (1)" and "The Bringers Of Wonder (2)".

"Space 1999" was a 48 episode television series set in the year 1999, with the Earth having a base on the moon. Due to an explosion, the moon is thrown out of Earth's gravitational pull and sent hurtling into deep space. Other telemovies were made from re-edited episodes - "Spazio 1999" (1976) compiled from the episodes "Breakaway", "Ring Around The Moon" and "Another Time, Another Place"; "Alien Attack" (1979) compiled from the episodes "Breakaway" and "War Games"; "Journey Through The Black Sun" (1982) compiled from the episodes "Collision Course" and "Black Sun"; "Cosmic Princess" (1982) compiled from the episodes "The Metamorph" and "Space Warp".
There is also a documentary "Space:1999 & UFO - The Documentaries".
