Many episodes of Doctor Who were destroyed by the BBC. As good fortune would
have it, fans of the show had taped the audio side of the show, so that at least
all episodes now exit either complete on at least in audio format. Different
fans and groups of fans began to reconstruct stories using remaining episodes or
parts of episodes, along with tele-clips, press clippings, animation, live
action and of course the original sound tracks. Through their efforts, most of
the missing episodes have been reconstructed for most stories, once again
allowing viewers to see and hear stories not shown for many years.
