GIANT ROBO
(Giant Robot)


(1967)

An alien space craft crashes into the Pacific Ocean, carrying the evil Emperor Guillotine from the planet Gargoyle; who plans to conquer Earth. A young boy and a writer who meet on a cruise liner; witness from the ocean depths, one of Guillotine's monsters. The boy and writer jump over board before the ship is destroyed. They wash up on a remote island, where they are captured and taken prisoners. While escaping they find a 100 foot tall robot. The robot just finished now only needs atomic power to activate his brain and a voice pattern to command it. Whoever talks first into the miniature transmitter in the form of a watch will control the Giant Robot. Also known as "Jaianto Robo". In 1969, the series was sold to the USA, nad later - Australia; and was renamed "Johnny Sokko and His Flying Robot" for these overseas audiences, with scripts re-written, names changed, and voices duped.
