Losing My Voice! -
Living with MND
Barbara Frances Williams
Losing My Voice! is a very poignant milestone in understanding the human tragedy of this cruelest of diseases.
People react in different ways to the diagnosis of motor neurone disease. They can devote
themselves to fighting the disease, they can try to live as fully as they can or they can give up.
Barbara recounts her day to day life as it happens. She keeps up a hectic work and
travel schedule while she slowly loses her ability to speak and swallow.

Legless In The Garden
Zana Abdul Rahman
Diagnosed with MND at 46, Zana was told she would be dead within 3 years. 6 years on, Zana was still very much alive when her story begins.
Her story is a story of surviving, coming to terms with physical limitations in sometimes undignified ways,
depending on abusive carers and being abandoned by close friends.
Above all, this is a story of how determination overcomes adversity, how liberating a disabling disease can be and how easy it is to be independent
and happy in a shrinking domain.

Coming To Life
David MacKenzie
The book is not just about MND. It's about coming to terms with dying and, in the process,
experiencing an awakening to life. We all have a terminal condition- it's called LIFE.
In so many ways the observations, the experiences and most importantly, the lessons this book contains are applicable to all.

Speaking from Experience : Motor Neurone Disease
Part of a Video Series produced by production company, Tidal
The series features ordinary people talking about the human side of a variety of medical conditions, surgical conditions and health-related topics.
The format of the video is that each person responds to a series of questions about MND, the onset of symptoms, the process of being diagnosed, their response and that of other people to the diagnosis, and how they have adapted to the day to day reality of living with MND.
Receiving this diagnosis is a devastating experience, which is acknowledged, as is the capacity of the human spirit to rise to the challenges life presents.
