WHO CAN
JOIN
Anyone interested in the
history and heritage of
Membership is by election
at a general meeting of the Society. Full
membership begins after formal acceptance at the meeting and payment of the
annual subscription and joining fee.
BENEFITS
OF MEMBERSHIP
All members are encouraged
to participate in the varied activities of the Society.
Such activities are:
* SPEAKERS
Interesting speakers are invited to address the Society at
most general meetings.

Excursions are arranged usually on the Sunday following the
monthly general meeting. These
are based strongly on history and generally follow a theme.
These tours are usually by coach
& occasionally by ferry, private vehicles or by walking.
Tour notes are usually sold for each excursion.

NEWSLETTER
A newsletter is sent to all financial members in which there
are details of speakers,
forthcoming tours & other activities.
There are occasionally snippets of historical information
and Society news.
A yearly programme of speakers and tours is also issued.

HAMBLEDON COTTAGE
Members are entitled to visit Hambledon Cottage free of
charge.
Members are also encouraged to train to become a volunteer
Guide to show people around
Hambledon Cottage.

LIBRARY
Members are able to use the Society's extensive reference
library facilities.

DISCOUNTED PUBLICATIONS
Members are entitled to a 5% discount on all Society
publications, other than those at special
prices.

FEES
Annual membership fees are
due upon election and thereafter on the 1st March each year.

Members joining after 1st
September in a year will not be required to pay an annual subscription in the
following year.
HOW TO
JOIN
The Application for Membership Form should be completed
and posted, or handed to the Society's Secretary or Membership Officer,
together with the joining and membership fees.
VISITORS
Visitors are welcome to
attend meetings and/or tours at the invitation of a member, but after 2 or 3
visits it is expected that membership will be taken out.
