RESEARCH SERVICES

AVAILABILITY OF RESEARCH

The Society provides a service for the general public to research enquiries into the history of people, places or events relevant to the Parramatta area.

Novice family historians can be given assistance and instruction in beginning their research.

Society files contain details and images (photographs, pictures, etc.) of people, places and events relating to Parramatta’s history and heritage.

COSTS OF RESEARCH

The costs for research are :

           * Initial enquiry                                                                 $ 15.00
              (including a small amount of photocopies)

           * Additional Photocopying of material                               $ 0.20 per page

           * Further research                                                             Quotation upon request


HOW TO ARRANGE RESEARCH

Please send your research enquiry to :

giving all known details and asking the specific questions, together with a cheque for $ 15.00.

 

An initial enquiry can be made by email to ascertain if relevant material is available.

The Society aims to respond to research enquiries within 2 months, depending on their complexity.

By visiting our Resource Centre, mainly on Tuesdays (9/30am-2/30pm) by appointment – contact 9635-6924 on a Tuesday to arrange a suitable date & time.

Research fee still applies.

PLEASE NOTE:  Research Committee is in recess from 13 December to 31 January 2012.

DONATIONS

If you have any items of historical interest relating to Parramatta & district, such as reference books, photographs, art works, personal papers, or histories of local businesses, cultural, sporting, recreational, church or political organisations, our Society would welcome your call concerning its donation.  All items would be suitably acknowledged.
