Little Pebble sex charges By LISA CARTY April 2, 2003
Court case: William "Little Pebble" Kamm arrives at Nowra Local Court yesterday. He has pleaded not guilty to sex charges. A woman told the court her mother approved of her having a relationship with Kamm.
A DISTRESSED woman yesterday told a court how her mother had approved of her having a sexual relationship with a religious cult leader when she was just 14 years old.
The woman cried at times as she told magistrate David O'Connor, in Nowra Local Court, about the occasions on which William "Little Pebble" Kamm had taken her to a Figtree motel, and a Corrimal flat, for sex.
On the first occasion she said she'd resisted his overtures, causing him to be angry with her on their return journey to his cult's Cambewarra compound.
"On the way back he was very angry and said he was very disappointed with me and that I shouldn't have made him waste his money for nothing," she said.
The woman, who cannot be identified, said she and her mother had spoken about the matter the next day.
Her mother said it would be okay if she "went" with Kamm because it was God's will.
Some days later she received a letter from Kamm in which he promised he would be gentle with her next time, and told her it was God's will that they have sexual intercourse.
The woman detailed other occasions on which she claimed to have sex with Kamm, including a time he put her and another female in interconnecting rooms in the motel. The other female had also been chosen by Kamm to be a "queen", she said.
The alleged victim agreed with Lindy Rogers for the Director of Public Prosecutions that being a queen meant she could not get married to anyone else.
The woman told the court queens were not allowed to be alone with a man, and were not allowed to have a sexual relationship with anyone but Kamm.
They were also not allowed to talk about being a queen.
The consequences of not agreeing to these conditions were not explained however later she received letters which said she was not behaving like a queen. "Something" would happen if she did not follow the rules, she said.
The woman claimed she had had sex with Kamm for several years until she became pregnant.
In relation to this alleged victim, Kamm has pleaded not guilty to one charge of inciting an aggravated act of indecency, and three counts of sexual intercourse without consent.
On Monday the court heard that the NSW Crime Commission was now involved in the case and more charges were likely.
The case was adjourned until August 4, when another alleged victim will give evidence.
The following article appeared in the same paper, also written by Lisa Carty.
LETTERS police claim were written by Little Pebble to another alleged victim were among dozens of documents tendered at yesterday's start of a hearing into nine sex charges.
The woman, who allegedly received the letters 10 years ago, will give evidence when the case resumes in August.
One of the letters allegedly written by the defendant PROMISES THE GIRL THAT HE WILL BE "GENTLE".
"WHEN WE MAKE LOVE FOR THE FIRST TIME it will a little hard because it will be new for you but you do not have to be afraid for I will be very gentle with you," the letter said."
"AS YOU ARE A VIRGIN WE WILL MAKE LOVE very slowly..."
Another letter remarks on her "sexy" legs and expresses hope that she was not too stirred up by his touch.
"I AM REALLY ANXIOUS TO GIVE YOU (A) PASSIONATE KISS I want to be able to draw you into myself," one letter said.
In another, the writer dismisses the idea that a holy person did not know how to have fun.
"No that's not me, I like to be open with everything that many people like to keep hidden...
"I hope you will be staying overnight often for IT GIVES ME A CHANCE TO... SEE THAT SEXY BODY OF YOURS."
Many letters commented on her appearance.
"You looked great yesterday AT MASS - I noticed you couldn't look over at me too often am I frightening you?"
In another, he thanks her for a letter, adding he wished he had been able to receive it personally.
"...as I WOULD HAVE GRABED (SIC) YOU INTO MY PRIVATE STUDY AND KISSED YOU UNTIL YOU COLAPSED (sic).
"Wait till I have you alone!!! I hope you have your running shoes on BECAUSE ONCE I CATCH YOU THAT'S IT."
Another letter has the line: "Did you know you are very sexy? I AM LICKING MY LIPS NOW."
One letter promises a trip to Wollongong so they can be alone.
"I HOPE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO HOLD OUT TILL THEN."
"If possible I will try to see you today and tomorrow WHILE MUM AND DAD ARE GONE!"
It continues later: "No you cannot have two husbands however I will allow you to have a teddy bear SO LONG AS YOU DO NOT FORGET IT IS A TEDDY BEAR."
One letter carries a message about avoiding pregnancy.
"I have no intentions of making you pregnant for some time yet," the letter said.
"YOU PROBABLY DO NO KNOW YOU CAN HAVE SEX WITHOUT MAKING SOMEONE PREGNANT."

Kamm's queen at 14 By GLENN ELLARD Wednesday, 2 April 2003
ONE of the 12 chosen queens of controversial religious leader William Kamm was taken to a hotel for regular sex sessions from the time she was just 14, Nowra Local Court heard yesterday.
The claim was made during a committal hearing into four charges each of aggravated sexual assault and aggravated indecent assault on a child aged under 16, along with one charge of inciting a child under 16 to commit an act of indecency, laid against Kamm, also known as The Little Pebble.
The woman, who cannot be named, told the court she moved into Kamm's Order of St Charbel religious community at West Cambewarra shortly before her 12th birthday.
She said when she was 13 she received a letter from Kamm about being his spiritual wife, which she understood to mean she had been chosen to be one of Kamm's 12 queens within the community.
Being a queen meant she was not allowed to marry anyone else, and "we're not allowed to have sexual relationships with anyone, besides William", she told the court.
Evidence to the court also stated there were 72 princesses selected to be united sexually or spiritually with Kamm, although the woman said they were allowed to marry other men. She said there were also a number of baronesses.
When the woman turned 14 she was told it was time to have children with Kamm "before the new era".
She admitted being unwilling, which had repercussions.
"I would get letters saying I was not behaving myself the way a queen should, and that something would happen if I didn't follow the rules," she told the court.
She said she was first taken to a hotel in Figtree in July 1994, but after refusing Kamm's sexual advances she ended up sleeping on the couch.
The trip back to the West Cambewarra community was not a pleasant one, she said in court as Kamm was angry.
"He said he was very disappointed in me, and that I shouldn't have made him waste his money on me for nothing, and that I shouldn't do it again," she told the court.
The next day the woman's mother told her it was okay to have sex with Kamm "because it was God's will", the court was told.
Only a few days later the 14-year-old girl was back at the hotel with Kamm where, despite being "nervous" and "scared" she had sex with the religious leader that night, and again in the morning, the court heard.
The woman claimed that within months Kamm was taking the woman and her older sister to the hotel for sex, a practice which continued regularly until the woman fell pregnant in 1999.
There was no cross-examination of the woman, which is expected to take place when the committal hearing resumes on August 4, at which time other witnesses and another alleged victim are expected to give evidence.
On Monday there was an attempt by Kamm's legal representative Greg Stanton to delay the hearing, saying the NSW Crimes Commission was investigating other allegations raised by people living in the community about the same time, and he expected other charges to flow.
However the application to delay proceedings, and deal with them together with other matters that may arise, was rejected by Magistrate David O'Connor.
Well here we go. As you can see Kamm has some serious problems, but we allready knew that. The Police case looks strong and all we can do for now is hope that justice will be done. It will be a long wait until August 4th. More information to follow, a little more speedily next time.
