New Improved Forum http://goatdairying.com/forum/ ![]() Goats can sometimes sleep very heavily as you may or may not know. Here's a tale told to me by Mark. A milker died in the yard and Mark has someone come to collect any dead goats. Mark and his wife, Marilyn were going out that day and the guy who was collecting the goat asked how he will find the dead animal. Mark replied "She'll be the only dead one in the yard" (as you would think). So off go Mark and Marilyn and along comes the guy to get the poor departed goat. He spots another goat that appears as if she may be the dead animal he is meant to collect so off he goes fairly confident that this must be the one. As he nears goat no.4 (who was probably secretly watching all that had gone on) he looks around to make sure no other human can see the trouble he is having finding a dead goat. Goat no.4 knows all about stranger danger and as the guy gets too close, she beats a hasty retreat back to the safety of the mob. Poor old goat no.5 was actually the dead goat, unfortunately for her [ Return to top of page ][ Home ] [Email Me] [Forum] [FAQ's] [Milk Quality] [Health] [Diet] [Breeding] [Anecdotes] [About Myself] [Other Stuff] |
