Meliki first entered a guitar competition at the Frankston Guitar Festival in 2002 where she received an Encouragement Award. She participated in four other Eisteddfods that year winning the open section in Warragul and placing in Kingston. In 2003 she won Young Guitarist of the Year - Classical/Flamenco at the Frankston Guitar Festival when 15 years old and repeated her win in 2004. She has received a number of awards and recognition for her instrumental compositions and songwriting.

2008 Meliki was shortlisted on the strength of her debut original EP released May 2008 for the 2009 APRA PDA, Contemporary and Popular Music category.
2007 saw Meliki's original song Encore shortlisted for the Australian Songwriters Award in the Acoustic section.
