GRANT

My great-great grandmother, Mary Ann GRANT, was born in Banff, Banffshire, Scotland in 1833.
She emigrated to NSW, Australia in 1839 with her father, James GRANT,  mother Charlotte (nee STEWART) & 5 other sisters, Janet (b. 1828), Anne (b.1830), Isabella (b. 1834), Margaret (b. 1837) & Charlotte (b. 1838). They were Assisted Bounty Migrants.

Mary Ann GRANT married Lewis PERRETT in 1855 in Hexham, NSW, Australia & settled nearby in the Raymond Terrace area. They had 9 children : Margaret Jane (1856-1888), John Grant (1859-1941), Selina (1861-1884), George Lewis (1862-1947), James Ezra (1864-1950), Mary Ann (b. 1866), Alfred Ernest (1868-1913), Albert Stewart (1870-1956) & Charles Henry (1872-1930).

Selina PERRETT, my great grandmother, married James PRIDDLE in 1883 at Morpeth, NSW.  Selina died following the birth of their only child, Ruby Mary, my grandmother.
