Botanical Name: Arthropodium strictum
Common Name: Chocolate Lily
Form: Dwarf perennial herb
Distribution: Victoria, N.S.W., Tasmania, South Australia
Foliage: Grass-like leaves to 40cm long.
Flowering Period: September to December
Description: Tufted plant with tuberous roots, violet, rarely white, chocolate scented flowers, singly on erect stalks, on branched flowering stems held high above the foliage.
Cultivation: Seed has 2 - 3 month after ripening period which gives good germination usually in 4 - 6 weeks. Can also be propagated by division of tubers.
