RULES FOR SPEECH AND DRAMA SECTIONS
THESE RULES MUST BE READ IN CONJUNCTION WITH “GENERAL RULES”

Age as at 1st June 2010.

1 All own choice sections will require two copies, one for competitor and one for adjudicator. These copies will not be returned to the candidates.
2 All reference copies for Speech and Drama, MUST BE HANDED IN before the sections commence. Adjudicators have the option of penalizing the competitor if such copy is not available. Copies should be typed and accurate.
3 Competitors in speech and drama sections may not perform a selection which has been set for another section.
4 No competitor may compete more than once in the same section.
5 TIME LIMIT: MUST be observed. Competitors will be penalized for being overtime.
6 Championship and Scholarship competitors must enter and perform in at least TWO other Sections;
these may be Poetry, Monologue or Duologue sections only
DRAMA SECTIONS; Monologue or Duologue ONLY
7 A minimum of 5 competitors will be required for each section. The Committee reserves the right to combine TWO SECTIONS where entries have less than 5 candidates.
8 Props to be brought by competitors at all times. No responsibility will be taken for props. Competitors will be required to set and strike their own set.
9 Offensive language is not acceptable.
10 Payments
(a) All modes of payment should be made out to St George Eisteddfod Inc.
(b) Cash and stamps will not be accepted as payment for entries.
(c) Entries will NOT be accepted unless accompanied by: - correct fees & accurate Eisteddfod Disclaimer Entry form.
Entries must be forwarded to the RELEVANT CONVENOR by due date FEES will not be refunded unless section is cancelled by the Eisteddfod Committee.
This Eisteddfod does not provide for ONLINE Entries/Payments or Faxed entries.
11 CANDIDATES and TEACHERS may not approach the Adjudicators table.
12 The Committee reserves the right to withhold prize monies if there are fewer than 5 competitors in the sections.

Copies of works supplied free of charge. A fee of $6 is charged for handling and postage.

All Championship competitors will be required to present an impromptu reading.

THERE WILL BE A $150.00 SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED TO THE MOST OUTSTANDING COMPETITOR IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP SECTIONS;
2ND PRIZE $100.00; 3RD PRIZE $50.00.
