This is what you will see when you enter the waiting area.

There are rooms for the social workers in a corridor to the left before you reach reception.

This is the reception counter. When you commence treatment you will receive a treatment record card. Present the card  here so that staff know you have arrived for your appointment.

This is the entrance to the treatment room which is on the opposite side to the reception counter.

This is a nurse's room next to the entrance to the treatment room. Report in here if you are to be weighed etc. It is the central pick-up point for your medical records. The treating Oncologists collect and return the treatment files to this room.

This is a rather unreadable close-up of a sign on the glass window of the  nurse's room. It is one of those cryptic signs which you collect in your memory when you are sitting in a medical waiting room. This one reads "Due to important changes it is essential for patients to report to reception first". You can wile away at least ten minutes trying to visualise what the "important changes" might have been.

There is a television set in the corner of the waiting area.

The seats are very comfortable. They look remarkably like seats from an airport departure lounge.

This is looking down the waiting area from the reception counter. There is a mini-kitchen in the middle from which carers and patients can obtain refreshments. On some days volunteers from Bosom Buddies and the Red Cross will mingle with visitors and offer them a cup of tea or coffee. The Oncologists' consulting rooms are down the corridor past the blue sign.

This is the nifty mini-kitchen for patients and their carers.

In a small area past the mini-kitchen you will find this enclosed waiting area with several lounges. I understand this is mostly used by carers and children who are accompanying patients to a chemotherapy session in the treatment room. Yes, that is a magnificent rocking horse in the corner - a gift ...............

This is a pamphlet carousel in the waiting area which contains general information of interest to patients and their carers.
