This is the Linac 2 machine, which was undergoing maintenance testing when I visited. The ceiling monitor is not a television screen but is used to identify the calibrations to be used for your treatment session. |
The nurse does not remain with you during treatment but in each treatment room there are ceiling cameras which ensure that the technicians know exactly what is happening. |
![]() These are some of the monitors in the technicians' area. |
![]() Here is a close-up of the cameras focussed on the treatment bed. |
![]() These two trays are on the counter in the treatment reception area. The sign on the left says "Treatment Records of patients to be reviewed" and the sign on the right says "Treatment Records of patients just reviewed". The Radiation Oncologist will collect your file from here if you are scheduled for an appointment either before or after the day's treatment. |
This is one of the consultation rooms in the corridor between the main reception and the treatment reception areas and is where your Oncologist will interview you. |
