(Citrus x limonia / Rangpur Lime)

The Mandarin Lime bears fragrant white flowers in spring, followed by attractive fruit with many culinary uses.

The fruit peels off to reveal 8-10 easily separated bright orange segments with a few greenish seeds. The fruit is deep red - orange and looks like mandarins, but tastes like limes.

It is said to be hardier than other limes and can be grown in a pot and maintained at a manageable size, or if put in the ground, can grow to 6 metes in height.

To maintain, simply prune to remove twiggy growth and weak branches, or when plant is young you can prune to create desired shape.

Citrus require moisture particularly during active growth and from late winter or early spring through summer when fruit is developing.

This Lime is very juicy and can be used in marmalades, drinks and many recipes where a strong citrus presence is required.
