HALL'S FALLS - ADJACENT FOREST UNDER IMMEDIATE THREAT

Anchor Road can be found about a kilometer before the turn off to St Columba Falls and the infamous 'Pup in the Paddock.'  A half a kilometer up Anchor road is the start of the Halls Falls track.  The area was recently saved from timber clear felling by the local community.  A very pleasant moderately easy walk through dry eucalypt forest.  The area immediatly north of the small reserve is to be clear felled from September 2003!

The falls are reached after about 15 minutes.  The walk down to the lower cascade is a little steep but worth the effort.

There is a short loop in the track along the way which passes by a group of tall trees.  The Blue Tier is another area renowned for its tall trees.
