HOT FINANCIAL TIP OF THE MONTH:- February/March 2001

I must be sounding a little like a cracked record, but here I go again.

There is very little that I am over excited about in the market at present. In fact I am still recommending extreme caution with any investment money.

Lets face it, there is just too much volatility around at the present time. The "Tech Wreck" is still happening and should be avoided at all costs. The profit estimates are all generally on the slide. A "recession" is still the main talking point. Even a cut of .5% in interest rates is gooing to take some time to kick in. Hence a high degree of volatility.

My personal opinion is that the markets should show some direction as early as around March 2001. However a better punt would be around June. None the less it will kick upwardly eventually. As it is hard to predict, a cautious outlook is the best path to follow.

As for "Hot Stocks". Keep an eye on the following. Symex, GUD, Rio (bit pricey at present), BHP, NAB, Leighton & CBA.

What ever you do don't touch the Tech sector as yet. Still looks to have downside.

    Until next time, Invest wisely.
