| HOT FINANCIAL TIP OF THE MONTH:- December 2001/January 2002
Firstly I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New year. That over with, what is hot at present? As usual around this time of year, look out for the credit card bug. It is just too easy to over spend and get one's self into financial trouble. Pensioners or potential Pensioners out there should be made aware that new more generous assessments of Income and Assets Tests may impact on you. For a start the use of a "Complying Pension" Income stream may mean a larger income particularly from Social Services and in some cases a partial or full pension that was previously not available. Also, new income levels may mean that at least a Pension card is now available to some non-recipients of Social Security . Many are missing out, so seek advise and see how you stand. The FISS Officer at your local Centrelink office should be able to help you.
WHAT IS HOT ON THE MARKET? As per last month, I still like both Telstra & AGL for long term investors. Both look well placed to take advantage of an economy which will eventually become very robust. Mind you I am of the opinion that any GOOD Blue Chip is worth looking at with a view to holding it for a long time. High yielding stocks for Income and over sold growth stocks are the best place to look. See you in the new year......
