COURSE DESCRIPTION :

DURATION : 2 THEORY SESSIONS PLUS 2 FULL FIELD DAYS

This short but thorough course covers all principles of ground navigation using a map and compass. It provides a sound base from which to develop confidence in the field.  Although aimed primarily at bushwalkers and bushworkers, the course is suitable for any reasonably fit and active person seeking to improve their ability to pursue their own interests in a variety of natural terrains.  Please note that this course covers introductory, intermediate and advanced principles of navigation, TASWALKS does not recommend or offer separate courses.

FIRST FIELD DAY (PRACTICAL) : SECOND THEORY SESSION : SECOND FIELD DAY (PRACTICAL) :

PUTTING IT ALL INTO PRACTICE ! Many problem areas are introduced and overcome today as you make your "own way" around, over and through especially selected bushland.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED :

In addition to a pen, paper, ruler and a couple of couple of coloured fine texta's to take notes and make drawings during the theory sessions, you will need a compass and appropriate clothing, equipment and boots for the field days.
